Ben Schoeman is an extremely experienced and competent mediator. He has mediated a vast number of different disputes and so understands the fundamental principles of mediation very well. He is adaptable and can apply the principles of mediation to many different contexts. Ben exudes empathy and is able to earn the trust of parties over very entrenched positions. He successfully resolved both of the complaints for the CAO because of his skill. He was also able to co-facilitate portions of the mediation with a local Ugandan mediator and showed his deep understanding of what it means to offer a culturally appropriate dialogue process.
